"Instead of patients spending their final days or years butchered in surgical theaters or microwaved in chemotherapy and radiation rooms," wrote Dr. John Richardson in 1977, "I have witnessed my patients experiencing an improved quality of life and enjoyment in their remaining time."
In the 1960's, Dr. Richardson was convinced that the cyanide containing vitamin B17 / Laetrile [ a naturally-occurring substance found mainly in the kernels of apricots, peaches, and almonds] arrested, contained, and even prevented cancer, and that a lack of nutritional enzymes was at the root of cancer. I was unaware at the time that nutritional doctors around the world have presumed this for centuries. But Dr. John Richardson, M.D. was arrested for his beliefs and lost his medical license to practice because of his certainty that properly administered vitamin B17 aids in the battle against cancer. This natural approach to cancer therapy has been suppressed in America over the past fifty years, and the use of vitamin B17 is unlawful to use in cancer treatment in the United States. Dr. Richardson's case histories proved that his nutritional program did work for many cancer patients when properly administered.
The Richardson Cancer Diet is based on specific vitamins and minerals plus digestive enzymes to aid in the prevention of cancer and assist the body's immune system during cancer recovery - specific vitamins such as B15, B17, and digestive enzymes.

Manner, PhD., Chairman of the Biology Department at Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois, studied the overall value of Laetrile [ a naturally-occurring substance found mainly in the kernels of apricots, peaches, and almonds] . His work was well respected and he reported B17 as being virtually non-toxic. When Dr. Manner used B17 along with vitamin A and digestive enzymes, the production of antibodies were stimulated against spontaneous breast tumors in his laboratory mice. He studied the results of complete regression in 76% of the mice treated with mammary gland cancers.
So what is vitamin B17? Vitamin B17 is a natural cyanide-containing compound that gives up its cyanide content only in the presence of a particular enzyme group called beta glucosidase. Miraculously, this enzyme group is found almost exclusively in cancer tissue, which results in the cancer's failure to survive the cyanide. There are no known harmful side effects of B17, and the cyanide in B17 does not affect non-cancerous cells.
Fruits are exceptionally high in B17, with some higher than others. Wild varieties are higher in nutrients than crossbred varieties. For example, wild choke cherries, cranberries, and crab apples are much higher in B17 than their hybrid counterparts. Have you heard the expression, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away?" Well, here's why: apple seeds contain B17. Every animal on the planet (except the human) eats the entire apple - core, seeds, and all.
